How it is computed
- Each final event in the ledger earns its organization the points the rulebook gives its type: a frontier or major model, open weights, research, a product, a deal, a safety or regulatory positive.
- The rulebook's weekly caps apply, including at most 80 points per organization per week.
- The week's points across every organization and the field, divided by 112.3 (the average of the four base weeks, fixed), times 100.
- Pending events do not count until they are final. Negative events are shown each week but do not lower the Index, because the base weeks had no search for them.
- A week can change until its scores are final, and after that only through the correction log.
- Points and caps applied: Rulebook 1.7, the version in force for the latest scored week. Each event was judged under its own week's version, which that week's report names.
