The Commissioner's Report: week of September 28, 2026
Fantasy Singularity is a game. Scores are not investment advice.
This is the first Commissioner's Report. It covers Monday, September 28 to Sunday, October 4, 2026 (US Eastern time). It is a preview week from the backfill, scored under Rulebook 1.6: no one played it, so there are no player scores, only the points each organization earned. Every event below links to the source it rests on and quotes the sentence that counts.
The week in one paragraph
OpenAI had the biggest week on the board with 53 points: a new main-line model (GPT-6.1 Sol), its safety addendum, two new ChatGPT features, a new API tool and a fellowship deal. The field, the slider for every lab not on the roster, came second with 30 points from two open-weights releases, one by NVIDIA and one by Amazon. Anthropic shipped Claude Sonnet 5.5 and its system card for 25. Alibaba Qwen scored 15 for an open medical imaging model from DAMO Academy, Meta 10 for a new Muse feature for small businesses, and Mistral AI 3 for a research partnership. DeepSeek, Google DeepMind, Microsoft, Moonshot AI and xAI scored nothing from the sources we read. No negative event scored, but we did not search for one this week (see "What we did not check").
Points by slider
| Slider | Points | Events |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | +53 | 6 |
| The field | +30 | 2 |
| Anthropic | +25 | 2 |
| Alibaba Qwen | +15 | 1 |
| Meta | +10 | 1 |
| Mistral AI | +3 | 1 |
| DeepSeek | 0 | 0 |
| Google DeepMind | 0 | 0 |
| Microsoft | 0 | 0 |
| Moonshot AI | 0 | 0 |
| xAI | 0 | 0 |
Points come from the ledger by script, after the rulebook's weekly caps. Backfill weeks use an even crowd line (every multiplier is 1) and no baseline signal, because no snapshots were taken.
What a player would have scored
A player's score for a slider is allocation times points, times the crowd multiplier, times 2 for the captain, divided by 10.
- 50 on OpenAI as captain and 50 on the field: 50 × 53 × 2 / 10 + 50 × 30 / 10 = 680.
- 40 on Anthropic as captain, 30 on Alibaba Qwen, 30 on Meta: 40 × 25 × 2 / 10 + 30 × 15 / 10 + 30 × 10 / 10 = 275.
In a live week the crowd line changes these numbers: a slider few players backed pays up to 3 times, and a crowded one pays as little as half. Losses are never scaled.

DeepSeek, Google DeepMind, Microsoft, Moonshot AI, xAI: 0
No scoring event for these five came out of the sources we read. That does not mean nothing happened: their channels were not all read for this week (see below).
What we did not check
This is a backfill week, built after the fact, and some checks were not possible or not done. We list them so the score is not read as more complete than it is.
- Negative events. No search was made for breaches, outages, court judgments or regulatory penalties. Status pages, court records and regulator publications were not read. A week with no negative points here is a week we did not look, not a clean week.
- The boards. No frontier model call and no top-10 board call was made, because Artificial Analysis, arena.ai and Epoch AI can only be read as they stand today, not as they stood that week.
- Channels. x.ai, the Qwen blog, and the DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, Microsoft and Google DeepMind channels were not read for this week. Nor were SEC filings.
- Leads not settled. Anthropic's October 2 post on a $100 million program to train engineers was not opened. Meta's Enterprise Platform post of September 28 was not opened. Mistral's post names work with BMW and Siemens Energy that was not shown to be a new deal. Several OpenAI DevDay items were not checked as API capabilities.
Weekly scouting continues from the week of October 5, 2026, the first live week: player entries opened for it and locked on Sunday, October 4 at 23:59 Eastern.
Correction, October 13, 2026: this paragraph first said that player entries would open when the game launches. Live play began with the week of October 5, 2026, so the sentence is corrected here.
Found something we missed?
Every scored event needs the organization's own publication, a named leaderboard, an official filing, or two reputable press reports. If you have a source for an event we missed or scored wrong, reply to the Commissioner's Report email with the link. Every correction is logged and shown in the next report, never made silently.
